At Lumii, we proudly operate to a Zero Waste to Landfill standard. All Miixfelt™ off-cuts — including those from our production hall and end-of-use materials — are shredded and reused.

Environmental Standards

We are committed to minimising harmful substances, protecting biodiversity, and using resources responsibly. Our goals include reducing overall energy use, improving efficiency, and exploring renewable energy solutions. We work with suppliers who meet certified environmental standards and provide clear, educational resources about the environmental performance of our products, including Miixfelt™. Our ongoing R&D ensures our products remain at the forefront of sustainable design, meeting the latest environmental benchmarks.

Miixfelt™

Our signature acoustic material, Miixfelt™, is manufactured in the UK from 75% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and designed to support a circular economy. It is robust, low-VOC, fully recyclable, and offers high acoustic performance.

Miixfelt™ is suitable for use in wall coverings, ceilings, lighting, furniture, and more. Miixfelt™ panels are available in a wide range of thicknesses and dimensions (9mm, 12mm, 18mm, 24mm), 52 curated UK-stocked tones and a wider palette of 140 colours

Fire tests in accordance with EN 13501-1:2018. Classification B-s1, d0.

Verified EPD

We are proud to offer a verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Miixfelt™, independently assessed to EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025 standards. This certification provides credible, science-backed lifecycle data and supports LEED, WELL, BREEAM, and other sustainable building schemes.

Future Processing and Management of PET Waste

We are collaborating with several UK universities to develop innovative methods for recycling PET fibre. This initiative has progressed significantly and shows promising potential. We are now seeking commercial support to further these processes, aiming to make them accessible to private companies through licensing agreements. This will help establish a circular recycling process for PET polyester fibre.

At Lumii, we work alongside Veolia to ensure zero waste ends up in landfills. Veolia transforms the bottom ash from our energy recovery operations into valuable construction materials, such as road bases and bricks. Metals are recovered and recycled, while the remaining ash is repurposed, contributing to waste reduction and a lower carbon footprint, all in support of a circular economy.

Health-Conscious Materials

Our Miixfelt™ panels are entirely free from formaldehyde binders, ensuring they are safe for both our customers and the environment. This focus on health and safety is integral to our sustainability efforts, as we strive to create products that are not only eco-friendly but also contribute to healthier indoor environments.
